Volunteers Needed to Select Ukrainian Nursery Rhymes!

Read to Me, a non-profit, province-wide early reading promotion program, is looking for Ukrainian-speaking volunteers to assist with the selection of 12 rhymes for the Ukrainian booklet. It provides a free bag of books to every baby born in Nova Scotia to encourage families to read, talk, and sing to their baby from birth. Read to Me is currently creating unique Songs and Rhymes booklets for babies in 18 languages, to encourage families to talk and sing in their home language. If you are interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity, please contact us and we will connect you with the program staff.
Past Events

We are thrilled to report that Barvinok Tour UNBROKEN UKRAINE was a great success! In addition to connecting Ukrainian communities on the East Coast in a beautiful and memorable way and bringing Ukrainian culture to Atlantic Canada, it met our fundraising goal of $50,000 for the medical rehabilitation centre UNBROKEN! Our Halifax concert and local fundraising efforts resulted in a contribution of $35,000 or 70% of all funds raised!
Thank you to Barvinok Dance School, to our sister non-profit organizations in QC, NB, and PE, as well as all performers, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and visitors. A special thank you to Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF). This would not be possible without everyone’s great effort and commitment! Stay tuned for more updates about the project on our Facebook page.
